I wasn't planning on doing much besides my art journal today, but when Kaitlin and Megan thought to do a little Harry Potter tour around London, I was in! We left at about 1:30 and headed first to Kings Cross Station. Since they were doing construction on many parts of the train station, they had relocated platform 9 and 3/4. We found it, though, and took a few pictures in front of it. Unfortunately, most came out blurry, but it was a fun experience nonetheless. I only wish Ron Weasley had been there to show us how to properly push the cart through the wall. Maybe next time...
After Kings Cross, we got on the tube and headed to Leadenhall Market. It is an adorably cute and very decorated little collection of stores. In the HP films, it was where they filmed parts for Diagon Alley. So cool! We took more photos and then ventured off to our final destination, Australia House (or the Australian Embassy). Some parts of Gringotts Bank were shot for the film here. It was also really, really neat!
After our mini-HP tour, we took a bus and headed to Oxford Street so Megan could get some earphones for her iPod. We passed a little stand on the way back that sold pashmina scarves (2 for 5 pounds). Kaitlin and I treated ourselves to a couple. Mine were red and a blue/gold/green thing that probably won't match anything. I love them! After that, we took the tube back to our flats. I've been homeworking and eating dinner ever since and I hope to talk to some of my amigas in America at some point today. Tomorrow we all start practicum at our schools. Yay!! I'll definitely keep you posted.
