Art & Thai

Hey, hey! Just a couple fun things to write about today. I woke up this morning and spent the morning putzing about. I did some work, did some nothing, and tried to do more work. I am seriously just trying to put off this one sociology journal because it makes no sense. Ah - I hate unclear instructions. Anyways, finally it was time to leave for art class. We started art at The Photographer's Gallery and the exhibits were pretty cool. There is like a contest for a special prize (I forgot the name, sorry) and the four finalists were shown in the gallery. Each had very different subjects and visions, but all were impressive. After that, we went on to a second photography gallery. I don't think any of us liked this one as much. It was a bit unimpressive, sadly. The third gallery was the coolest, in my opinion. It was a rooftop gallery and the people in it were getting ready for the opening of an exhibition. The artwork was really neat and colorful, often with bunnies in them representing time. We had been invited to the private viewing, but many of us couldn't stay. However, we did get to meet the artist (Marcus McAllister) and he was so nice and down to Earth. It was really cool hearing about his visions and inspirations.

After art class, I had dinner with Jordan, Jenna, and our faculty advisor, Jimmie. Jimmie does this thing where she takes a group of students out to dinner or lunch to get to know them better. Tonight was our turn and we went to a place called Ben's Thai on our street. It was my first experience with Thai food and I really liked what I got. It was nice chatting and getting to know everyone a bit better.

Now, I am still putting off doing my darn sociology journal, but at least you get a blog out of my procrastination!
